  • This service allows patients that have had successful cataracts surgery to have their final follow-up checks in a community setting. This can be after successful removal of either their first or second cataracts. Where referral is required back to the WAH Trust, please follow the Worcestershire Referral Guidelines.

  • Please note: This service has now migrated to Opera. All interactions with Optomanager have now ceased. For all Opera onboarding queries, click here.

  • This service allows repeat IOP readings within the community setting. Patients who present with IOP's 24 mmHg during their GOS/private test should have Goldmann Applanation Tonometry (GAT) or Perkins Tonometry performed. Note: IOP refinement should only be perfomed where there are no other clinical signs indicating a suspect Glaucoma diagnosis.

  • If IOP's remain 24 mmHg, then a repeat IOP check should be performed again within 1 month.

  • The Children's Vision Service allows children in primary school to be assessed whilst they are in their receptions year. If during this test the child is found to have not met a suitable criteria, then they are referred for further assessment at a community setting. Local performers who have completed the associated WOPEC qualification, must strive to perform a Cycloplegic refraction along with other tests.

  • This service allows patients to contact a local participating optical practice, and speak to an optometrist regarding their presenting symptoms. Optometrists are encouraged to triage these patients within a 2 hour time frame, and assess whether a face-to-face examination, face-to-face with an OCT/discharge with advice is necessary. Where referral is required, please follow the Worcestershire referral guidelines.
